The Salvation Army, Haiti has been actively taking steps to prevent the spread of Cholera since the epidemic began. Vital supplies including soap, disinfectant, oral rehydration packets and antibiotics have been distributed via community centers (schools and churches) throughout the country. In Port-au-prince, efforts have continued through the primary health clinic, College Verena primary and secondary school and the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp next to The Salvation Army's compound.

One of the cholera treatment rooms previously set up at The Salvation Army's Bethel Clinic in response to the need in Fond-des-Negres. Shortly after the CTC opened, patients were transfered from this location to the new facility.
A patient receives oral rehydration serum. Patients can follow this course of treatment every two hours for an infection that is not as advanced.
The CTC features a carefully designed maze of tents that are sanitized and prepared to receive and care for patients through every stage of infection from triage to recovery.
