Photos from the first group of schools in the School Repair and Construction Project. Six schools that were affected by the 2010 earthquake have been repaired and renovated, providing safe structures for nearly 700 school children this year. Among the repairs were masonry work, roofing and framing, water catchment system installation and repair, electric wiring, security walls, water drainage and painting. Schools were in the towns of Abraham, Bellegarde, Campeche, Dessources, Lafferonnay and Petit Goave; all in southern Haiti. This project addresses needs outside of the Port-au-Prince area.

Training maintenance and repair teams is an essential capacity-building component of the school repair and renovation project. Project Manager David White trains a team at Abraham.
Water catchment system installation and repair is an important component of the project, as access to potable water has long been an issue throughout the country.
This building was divided into two classrooms allowing more teaching and learning space for Abraham teachers and students.
