Swiss officer, Major Rosemarie Häfeli, visited Haiti in August 2011, for the first time since the earthquake. "It is overwhelming for me to see the progress in The Salvation Army," she says. "It's really something." Major Häfeli was appointed to Haiti 42 years ago as a nurse in Fond-des-Nègres and began 31 years of work building some 40 schools throughout the country. She also began The Salvation Army Haiti's relationship with Kindernothilfe (KNH) who has sponsored many projects over the years and continues to sponsor College Verena.
